Supervised & Accountable

Porters are supervised by a field manager and clock in/out via our digital tracking system.

How It Works

Daily Accountability

Digital sign-in logs and supervisor spot-checks keep service quality consistent every shift.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What does a day porter actually do all day?

A day porter continuously monitors and maintains common areas — checking and restocking restrooms hourly, clearing lobby clutter, responding to spills, wiping down high-touch surfaces, removing trash, and turning over conference rooms between meetings.

How many hours per day do you recommend?

It depends on your facility size and foot traffic. Smaller offices often benefit from a 4–6 hour shift during peak hours. Larger buildings, medical lobbies, or retail centers typically require full 8-hour coverage.

Can a day porter help with event setup and breakdown?

Yes. Many of our porter clients also use the role for light event support — setting up water stations, rearranging chairs, managing trash during events, and resetting spaces afterward.

Is the day porter an employee of Choice, or will they be on my payroll?

Your porter is a Choice Facility Services employee. We handle hiring, payroll, insurance, training, and supervision — zero HR burden on your side.

What if our porter is out sick?

We maintain a trained backup roster and will have a qualified replacement on-site within the same business day.
